Hope Innovation Academy gives young people aged 18–29 the skills, mentors and real projects they need to build ventures and change their communities.
HINA was born from a simple idea: young people in marginalized communities deserve the same chances to learn, start and lead as anyone else. Access to education, entrepreneurship and digital skills is still limited, so we built a place for practical, hands-on learning.
We give scholars the knowledge, mentorship and resources to drive social change, build sustainable ventures and grow a community where innovation leads to real-world impact.
A generation of leaders with the skills, knowledge and passion to build a sustainable future.
We believe that when youth get the right tools, they innovate, drive social change and give back to their communities. Through education, mentorship and hands-on experience, we are building a movement of empowered young people.
Six ideas shape how HINA runs and how scholars learn. First, how we work together.
Freedom to explore and take ownership of learning, paired with real responsibility to the community. Scholars make their own decisions and are accountable for the results.
Decisions are shared, not handed down. Scholars, mentors and team members take on self-organized roles, so everyone learns to lead, collaborate and adapt.
Local people help decide what we work on. Scholars and stakeholders identify real challenges together, so solutions stay relevant and can grow.
Design Thinking is a human-centered approach to solving problems by understanding people’s needs, defining the right problem, creating ideas, testing solutions, and improving them based on real feedback.
At HINA, scholars use Design Thinking to approach community challenges with empathy rather than assumptions. They learn to identify genuine needs, develop practical solutions, test their ideas with real people, and continuously improve them—helping turn local challenges into meaningful social and economic opportunities.
Not every scholar will start a business, and that’s fine. Our bootcamp prepares everyone for internships and entry-level jobs through intensive, hands-on training.
