What New Vision Agro Does

New Vision Agro produces organic, chemical-free vegetables during the off-season, when local supply is limited and Kathmandu relies heavily on imports. Using modern greenhouse tunnel farming, the enterprise provides fresh, locally grown vegetables year-round โ€” strengthening food security and reducing dependency on pesticide-intensive imports.

Vision

To become a leading model of organic off-season agriculture in Nepal by transforming underutilized land into productive farms and ensuring year-round access to safe, locally grown food.

Mission

To cultivate organic off-season vegetables using sustainable farming practices and supply safe, locally grown food year-round.

Location

Haibung, Melamchi-03, Sindhupalchok, Nepal. Currently 1.2 acres in operation, with plans to lease up to 6.28 acres more with Melamchi Municipality.

Business Model, Market & Operations

Products: Organic potatoes, garlic, onions, chili peppers, coriander, cauliflower, and selected leafy greens and herbs โ€” grown year-round with greenhouse tunnel farming.

Market: The Kathmandu Valley and Sindhupalchok โ€” wholesale vegetable markets (including Kalimati Market), restaurants and hotels, organic retail shops, and institutional buyers.

Revenue model: D2C and B2B sales, with harvest-to-delivery in 2โ€“3 days. Off-season availability and organic production enable price premiums of approximately 30โ€“50% compared to conventional imported vegetables.

Growth outlook: Currently operating on ~1.2 acres with the three founders directly managing production, collaborating with local farmers seasonally. In cooperation with Melamchi Municipality, the enterprise plans to lease and operationalize up to 6.28 additional acres, expand greenhouses, gradually scale the workforce, and reinvest profits into productivity, sustainability, and long-term employment.
